If We Survive the Night follows a group of characters caught up in a terrifying situation where survival becomes the only thing that matters. Blending psychological thriller elements with horror and a healthy dose of zombie chaos, the story creates plenty of tension while keeping the focus on the people at the centre of it all.
This was such a fun surprise for me! As a huge zombie fan, I knew I had to pick this one up, and it definitely delivered. I really enjoyed the characters, particularly the fact that even the smaller characters had their own personalities and felt like real people. The author also did a great job of making everything feel believable without getting too bogged down in medical details.
I especially loved having female characters at the centre of the story. They were strong, memorable, and an important part of the action, which I really appreciated. And, of course, there was enough gore to keep this horror fan happy!
Overall, I’d definitely recommend If We Survive the Night if you enjoy psychological thrillers, horror, strong female characters, and a little zombie chaos. Jo Salazar has created a really entertaining and atmospheric read, and I’ll definitely be interested to see what they write next.
